AYSO 5U Schoolyard
Players at the AYSO 5U level are introduced to the game by participating in simple, fun activities and games that requires a minimal time commitment. The 5U program allows players to discover the game for themselves, while also giving the parents a foundation to build and grow into future AYSO coaches, referees, and administrators.

Schedule
Each child will be provided a jersey, shorts and socks to wear to each game. Please bring to each game the following:
- A #3 soccer ball
- A water bottle
- Shin guards (REQUIRED) & are worn under the socks
- Soccer cleats are recommended but not required.
- All jewelry MUST be removed including earrings. However, Medic ID bracelets are allowed if covered by tape or a sweatband. No baseball caps are allowed.
- There will be eight sessions of training and games. These are held on one day only, Saturday (i.e., no weekday practices), and consist of:
- 30 minutes of warm up and fun-filled, age appropriate practice activities. The Team Coach will be facilitated by ProTouch Soccer
- 30 minutes of team organizing, 3 v 3 games supervised by the Team Coach, and wrap-up
Guidelines
All Sessions are held at Marty Russo Youth Athletic Park (aka YAP or Lake Fields).
Please be on the PRACTICE FIELD dressed and ready, promptly at your practice start time, for a 20-30 minute ProTouch training session.
Boys will meet at their assigned fields for practice & games. Girls will meet at the adjacent field for training and after training, will go to their designated game field, identified below, for their 3v3 game which consist of two 10-minute halves (running time) with a 5-minute half-time break.
Players are substituted at the 5 minute mark of each half and start of the 2nd half.

FIeld Striping Duties
- Please stripe fields Friday night before the game.
- Striper and paint are in the U5 bin where goals are stored- the smaller rubbermaid bin between the large green storage in the southwest corner closest to the umpire parking.
- Takes about 10-15 minutes per field
- Bring a bag to pick up dog poop, if seen.
- When you shake the can make sure you hear the metal ball bouncing around - Place the can in the sniper so that it sprays “wide”
- Line the striper arrow with the line
- Go slowly and keep straight line
- - Easier to do center circle and arc by hand, spraying, but paint will get on fingers - Takes about 2 cans per field
- Make sure bin is locked!
